The Pulo, an elliptical karst depression with a major axis of about 550 m and a maximum depth of 92 m. Probably this is a collapse sinkhole, generated by the collapse of the huge ceiling, due to natural causes. On the walls of the north side we have numerous caves, certainly prehistoric dwellings of hominids; not very far from Pulo, in the fascinating area of Lamalunga, inside a cave, the skeleton of the famous "Man of Altamura" (a so-called pre -Neanderthal, who lived in the Pleistocene, in a period between 50,000 and 300,000 years ago) what the locals affectionately call "Ciccillo";
