The tratturi of the Itria Valley.
The route winds through a network of ancient rural sheep tracks in an almost intact landscape and naturalistic context.
The territory examined, in the countryside of Locorotondo, is also rich in ancient stone artifacts, such as trulli, dry stone walls, millstones, shapes.
And then arable land, vegetable gardens, strips of wood, pastures and above all the people who live in the Contrade, the ancient rural villages, with their stories.
The landscape is among the most beautiful in the area, rich in a network of trutturelli that once united all the Contradas of the area, which can be traveled on foot, with mules and with small carts.
Some sheep tracks still retain the old stone paving, on which the furrows traced by the wagons are visible.
A landscape of vines, dry stone walls, arable land, trulli, vegetable gardens, orchards and woods with monumental oaks. Grazing animals and, above all, the people who live here, the stories and ... the history of the place.
