Your tour starts at the Swabian Castle where you will meet your guide. Let's start by admiring the Castle by discovering its origins and the history of Emperor Frederick II.
From the castle walking through the historic center you will reach the Romanesque-Gothic Cathedral, here you can admire the architecture and some detailed stone decorations of the cathedral. You will then visit the "challenge" cellar also known as the "poison house", where your guide will tell you about the "Challenge of Barletta", a fight fought between 13 Italians and 13 French knights. Then the visit continues admiring the Basilica of the Holy Sepulcher and the fascinating Colossus of Barletta a bronze giant better known to the locals as Heraclius.
Walking through the narrow streets of the center you will arrive outside the baroque palace "Della Marra" with the collection of paintings by Giuseppe De Nittis.
The tour will end at the only survivor of the city gates, Porta Marina which represents the remains of an ancient wall that surrounded the city for its entire length.
